Ashok Selvan has teamed up with debutant director Ra Karthik for a film titled Nitham Oru Vaanam. “The story happens across three landscapes and three timelines and will be about staying positive in life. I’m sure the film will give hope to anyone who watches it,” begins Karthik, who has worked in 14 films in Tamil and Telugu and done corporate videos and commercials.
Travel is an integral part of the film, he informs and adds that this isn't a road movie.
“The story begins in Chennai and ends here as well, but will move to Hyderabad, Vizag, Delhi, Chandigarh, Manali, Kolkata and Pollachi. The shoot got over by December 31, 2021, and we are currently working on the dubbing,” says the director.
Ashok Selvan will have three different looks in the film. “I wanted someone who can devote time to delineate these three looks and convincingly pull them off. And Ashok Selvan fit the bill,” he says.
The film has three female leads. While
Ritu Varma will be seen as a modern girl, Aparna Balamurali will appear as a village girl.
Shivathmika Rajashekar is playing a college girl in the film.
Vidhu Ayyana, who shot Oh My Kadavuley, is the cinematographer of the film while Gopi Sundar, who is known for Bangalore Days, Charlie, Thozha and Geetha Govindam, is its music director. “I wanted the music to be the soul of the film, and I’m glad he came on board,” says the filmmaker.
