Ashok, Chandini & Sheela in Maayathirai

Actor Ashok Kumar of Pidichirukku fame plays the lead role in Mayathirai, which has To Let actress Sheela Rajkumar as the heroine. The film is directed by Sampath Kumar, who has worked as an assistant director under director Bala, Ezhil and Agathiyan.
The film will also have Chandini Tamilarasan and Meghali playing other lead roles. Sandi Veeran and Goli Soda fame SN Arunagiri is composing the music for this film, which is being produced by V Sai Babu.The producer, who had earlier produced the Kushboo-starrer Thaali Pudhusu, is returning to Tamil cinema after a long gap with this film.
The movie will be focusing on kula dheivam and siru dheivam worshipping rituals. The shoot of the film started today, which is considered to be an auspicious day.
