Subiksha, who is currently awaiting the release of three films, says her foray into the industry was quite accidental. Veteran filmmaker Balachander once happened to see a dance performance of hers, and asked her if she was interested in acting.

“But, my answer was ‘no’ then. Later,

. He was so friendly and told me during our interaction that he would give me a role in his film. I signed a Malayalam and Kannada movie after that. The latter was the remake of Manam Kothi Paravai. After a small break, I was then offered

under Balaji Sakthivel sir’s directorial. I was so happy that I got to work with another senior filmmaker,” says Subiksha.

The actress says that Kadugu gave her a big break in the industry and adds that she is looking forward to associate with more veterans in different industries. “I make sure that I learn the language when I work in other film industries. I learnt Malayalam and Kannada when I did films in those languages. But I’m more comfortable working in Kollywood. As a professional Bharatanatyam dancer, I’d love to play the role of a classical dancer in a film — something on the likes of Chandramukhi, or do a dance-oriented movie,” she signs off.
