Even as his film with
Arya, Ghajinikanth, is gearing up for release,
Santhosh P Jayakumar
is all set to start work on his next directorial. And this one is with Arya, too. Santhosh says, “We are rolling in August, on the day our other film releases. It’s a coming-of-age love story, and the script will be high on romance.”
The team is yet to finalise the rest of the cast and crew. The director adds, “But we will lock the heroine before we start shooting. We also have two-three titles in mind, and we will be finalising one soon.”
In an earlier interview, he’d told us, “Arya and I share a comfortable equation. He gets attached to you easily and adapts to your style of working. He never has this attitude of ‘naan experienced artiste, nee en level-ku eri va’. He will gel with you for what you are.”
Interestingly, Santhosh’s first two films were with Gautham Karthik (Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu), and his next two are with Arya. Is it a conscious decision to repeat his heroes? “If it’s working out, we should just let it be," he laughs, “But that said, he is apt for the role.”
