Looks like
Arun Vijay is smitten with boxing! The actor, who will be seen playing a boxer in Vivek’s Boxer, recently met 20 boxers from Tamil Nadu, who won medals (Men - 8 Gold, Women - 3 Gold and 9 others with silver) at national level, at the National Boxing Championship, which was hosted by Mission Olympics Games Association of India. He also met the Runner championship Tamil Nadu coach Senthil Nathan at the event.
The actor says, “This isn’t an exultation of victory limited to these 20 superheroes, but for our entire Tamil Nadu.
For me, they are the real Avengers. Being a sportsman or an athlete isn’t an easy deal, especially a boxer. It involves a lot of mental and physical preparations. You’ve to be on Zen mode, but at the next instant, get calculative.”
Interestingly, Arun Vijay trained in mixed martial arts for Boxer. “I have gone through a certain kind of training for Boxer. But to see these champions sweat it out day and night relentlessly, even at times of leanest support, is really astonishing. I wanted to meet them personally to motivate and encourage them. But to be honest, I got deeply inspired and motivated as they shared their experiences and journey. The challenges they encounter and how they combat them inspired me,” he signs off.
