Arun Vijay expresses gratitude to Bala for 'Vanangaan'

'Vanangaan', the Tamil Pongal release was released in theatres on January 10, and the film received better responses. Bala's directorial features Arun Vijay in the lead role, and the lead actor winning praise from the audience for his extraordinary performance. Meanwhile, Arun Vijay expressed heartfelt gratitude to director Bala for allowing him to portray the character Koti in 'Vanangaan'. Sharing his appreciation on social media, he wrote, “A big thank you to my director @IyakkunarBala Sir for letting me live Koti in 'Vanangaan'. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to play this role and to have won hearts all over even without speaking a word. It’s all because of you! You showed me what I was capable of, and I owe it all to you, for which I will always be grateful.” His words highlight the profound impact of this transformative experience under Bala's direction.


Suriya was initially offered the lead role in 'Vanangaan', but he stepped out from the film in a smooth decision with Bala. Arun Vijay then stepped in to replace Suriya in Bala’s 'Vanangaan', a decision that sparked curiosity among fans. The film, directed by the renowned Bala, delves into the emotionally charged journey of Koti, a mute fisherman portrayed by Arun Vijay, who is determined to protect his community from external threats. Set against a rugged coastal backdrop, the story explores themes of resilience, sacrifice, and survival, highlighting the protagonist's silent yet powerful fight against adversities. Roshini Prakash played the female lead, while Ridha, Mysskin, Samuthirakani, Chayya Devi, and Aruldoss played crucial roles. GV Prakash Kumar scored the music for songs, while Sam CS took care of the background score. According to trade sources, 'Vanangaan' grossed over Rs 10 crore in 6 days, and the film is stepping ahead strongly.
