Are T'wood actresses unprofessional?

The recent Ram Charan Tej - Dasari Narayana Rao tiff on the issue of unprofessional behavior of actresses opens a can of worms
Are T'wood actresses unprofessional?
Actresses in T-town seem to be caught up in a brat race of late. From demanding fancy cars to ferry them to their shoots, five-star luxury complete with customized menus and beauty treatments, to city tours for their moms and entourage the divas want all of it. But when it comes to promoting their films, these hotties are nowhere to be seen.

And of late, they have started throwing their weight around even before they sign a film by deputing their assistants to hear the script!
This issue first came out in the open when veteran filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao made a remark about unprofessional actresses who refuse to turn up for film promotions. When actor Ram Charan Tej was asked to comment on the same at an event, he took up for his co-stars. I dont agree with Dasari garu. I dont think actresses give trouble to make public appearances... in fact, I have spotted many leading ladies of Tollywood at various functions. This passing statement made by Charan, stirred up a whole new controversy, with filmmakers coming out in strong support of Dasari. Filmmaker Thammareddy Bharadwaj affirms that the problem exists. The producer council is receiving many complaints on actresses unprofessional behavior and Dasari is right.
Prasanna Kumar, secretary of AP Film Producers Council, too reiterates it, Perhaps Ram has not heard of these problems as actresses deal cautiously with big production houses. But it is a fact that in the last few years some of them have not been cooperating with the producers, he says, citing the examples of Ileana, who stayed away from the promotion of Shakti and Charmme troubled the producers of Mayagadu. Actresses Sneha Ullal and Hansika too have given their producers a tough time in the past, he adds.
Senior director A. Kodanda Rami Reddy has horror stories to recount of Shwetha Basu Prasads unprofessional behavior. It was a nightmare to get her on time to the sets. She would refuse to take early morning flights and demand five-star hotel accommodation. We had to foot the bills of her mother too, who would accompany her. At the time of signing the film, she agreed to promote the film but when she was called for the promotions, she demanded extra money.
Lamenting on the growing unprofessionalism among actresses, Tammareddy Bharadwaj says, Some of these imported actresses do not even come to hear the story. They instead send their managers. It is pathetic to see such unprofessional behavior. This issue needs to be addressed.
While director Gautam Patnaik is of the opinion that getting the terms and conditions clear at the time of signing prevents a lot of problems later, Prasanna Kumar feels that taking disciplinary action against trouble-makers is the only solution.
Referring to the action that the Malayalam film industry took against Saranya, Prasanna Kumar reveals, She created problems for a Malayam producer and they sent a letter to us. We immediately told all the producers here to stay away from her. As a result, she lost a role in Mahesh Babus forthcoming flick Dookudu. Even here, we are trying to work out something on the same lines. Very soon we will set right a few things.
