Ace cinematographer Ravi Varman’s next project is Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer magnum opus flick, Ponniyin Selvan, for which AR Rahman is scoring music. The Mozart of Madras took to Twitter to post a video of two minutes duration, which features a few works of the lensman. The two had earlier worked in films like Tamasha and Mani’s Kaatru Veliyidai. Tagging the veteran technician, the Academy Award-winner posted, “Bringing to you, the journey of an ace cameraman Ravi Varman who helped develop masterpieces one after the other.

Ravi Varman, who started his career as a cameraman in Mollywood, debuted in Kollywood with Five Star. He went on to work in successful projects like Autograph, Anniyan, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and Dasavatharam in Tamil. He is also said to have worked for a few portions in 7Aum Arivu and Minnale. He also reportedly worked for a schedule in Shankar’s Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2. The blockbuster Bollywood films, Sanju and Mission Mangal, were the last two big projects he worked on in the recent years.
