Director AR Murugadoss who had directed Vijay starrer 'Kaththi' which faced a lot of issues during it's release expressed his happiness over Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa conceding defeat in presidential elections. Rajapaksa, who dominated politics for a decade , faced an unexpected challenge from Sirisena, his former cabinet colleague. The film faced protests over the release of the film during the release when several fringe groups held protests citing that the film produced by Lyca Productions, was funded by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
But the makers have reportedly solved all the issues at the eleventh hour.
Expressing his happiness AR Murugadoss tweeted, "Nice start to the New year !!! It's time to celebrate Rajapaksa's defeat !!" (Sic)
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday morning conceded defeat in presidential elections held on Thursday, even as trends showed a clear victory for united opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena.
