While the Tamil film industry is yet to recover from the shocking demise of lyricist Na
Muthukumar, another lyricist, N Annamalai passed away (due to heart attack) on Tuesday night, leaving those who had worked with him stunned. Music director-turned-actor
Vijay Antony has had a close association with the lyricist, as he had written many of Vijay's chartbusters, including En Uchi Mandaila, Chillax and Rathathin Rathame.
He says,'I had a brief chat with him only last week.I am still feeling depr- essed. I haven't even slept properly from the time I heard the news,'says Vijay. He describes Annamalai as someone who had deep thoughts.'Only if someone has gone through a lot of difficult situa- tions in their own life can they write such lines. I would say he was our 'kutty' Kannadasan. Even as a person he was very simple and disciplined,' he says. 'What's hurting me the most is that he has left us at the time when industry was starting to embrace him,' he concludes.
