An ensemble cast including the likes of Bharath, Shaan, Rajaji, Abhirami, Anjali Nair, Kaniha, debutant Sini and Pavitra Lakshmi will be starring in the hyperlink film Once Upon A Time In Madras directed by debutant Prasadh Murugan.
The director shares, “The film is a hyperlink thriller that focuses on how ‘a gun’ changes the lives of four individuals. It will be an entertaining commercial movie with a strong political stand.”
He adds, “The story is based on a true event that happened in 2013. That’s also the reason why we named the film Once Upon A Time In Madras. I wanted to make a film about it right after the incident happened, but I could start working on the script only in lockdown.”
The cinematography of the film has been handled by Kalidas and Kannan. Nedunalvaadai fame Jose Franklin will be composing the music for the film.
Sharing details about the roles of the actors in the film, Prasadh says, “Bharath plays an orphan who goes on to be an auto driver. The film follows the decisions he makes when he gets a gun in his hand. Abhirami’s character is someone who is in a lot of debt, while Anjali Nair plays a well-educated woman who gets married into an orthodox family.”
