Much has been written about the shelved version of Arjun Reddy’s first remake, Varma. It is known that the production house has kicked off a new film with a different director and star cast, while
Dhruv Vikram has been retained. Banita Sindhu is now playing the female lead and Ravi K Chandran has been roped in to crank the camera.
Priya Anand is another artiste who essays a crucial role in the film. We now hear that
Anbu Thasan
will play the role of Dhruv’s friend in the movie, which was essayed by Rahul Ramakrishna in the Telugu version. The young actor was noted for his performance in Kolamavu Kokila last year.
Interestingly, it was Akash Premkumar who did the same role in the first Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy. He was chosen by Bala after auditioning for three days. Anbu is now a part of Sivakarthikeyan’s next production venture, which is directed by Karthik Venugopal.
