Sreedharan of 555 fame plays the female lead in the project which has Anandraj, Raj Kapoor and Imman Annachi among others playing pivotal roles. Tipped as a political satire with commercial elements, Dhorai says that the movie will have realistic portrayal of
politics
.
He says, "My earlier films Mugavaree & 6 Candles were appreciated for the realistic depiction of various events. Naarkaali will also have realistic portrayal of happenings pertaining to politics. Be it an election campaigning or the events that unfold on an election day, we have tried our best to include intrinsic details to make the viewers hooked. I was one who asked Ameer to focus on acting - he has done a great job in the role of a politician in the film. The movie has a few portions, the time period of which, has a six-year hiatus. Ameer has lost around 10 kilos to look different for two time frame in the film. Chandini, Imman Annachi and a few other artistes will also be seen in two appearances to do justice to those sequences."
