Actor Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting for his 23rd film, titled 'Amaran'. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film stars Sai Pallavi alongside Sivakarthikeyan, and the movie is produced by Kamal Haasan. The film is a biography of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an army officer who lost his life while fighting for the country as he countered a terror attack in 2014 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The film's teaser was launched two days ago on the occasion of Sivakarthikeyan's birthday. It has been well received, and now Major Mukund Varadharajan's wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, has expressed her opinion, as he had a mixed feeling of excitement and grief after watching the movie teaser.

Taking to social media, she wrote, "Amaran, my eternal one... I have contemplated how to word this a thousand times, but as always, I simply let my heart speak. A decade has gone by, and now it is time to immortalise his memory and act of patriotism on the silver screen. I can't deny that I am looking forward to the movie, but this excitement will be forever mingled with indelible grief, infinite love, and unfailing hope. Standing in strength and grief with our families and every soul who knows what it is to lose one so precious for a worthy cause. Jai Hind!!"
The film portrays Sivakarthikeyan playing the role of Major Mukund, and Sai Pallavi reprises his wife's role, Indhu. The rest of the film's cast includes Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman, Gaurav Venkatesh, and Shreekumar, among others. The film's music is composed by GV Prakash. The film is suspected to release in theatres on August 15, 2024.
