‘Amaran’ box office collections day 26: Sivakarthikeyan starrer mints more than Rs 208 crores

Sivakarthikeyan starrer biopic movie ‘Amaran’ is minting magnificent numbers at the box office.

According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Amaran’ has collected Rs 208.50 crore from India in 26 days, and on day 26 the movie collected Rs 1 crore as per the early estimates by the website.


Coming to the occupancy rates, ‘Amaran’ had an overall 15.13 percent Tamil occupancy on November 25 with morning shows at 12.96 percent, afternoon shows at 15.54 percent, evening shows at 16.50 percent, and night shows at 15.52 percent.


Due to Sai Pallavi’s popularity in Telugu regions, ‘Amaran’ is enjoying good occupancy rates in the area as well. The film had an overall 16.04 percent Telugu occupancy on November 25 with morning shows at 11.60 percent, afternoon shows at 19.07 percent, evening shows at 14.37 percent, and night shows at 19.11 percent.


Meanwhile, the Suriya starrer ‘Kanguva’ is finding it hard to even cross Rs 70 crores. The movie which is directed by Siva is getting mediocre reviews from the audiences.


ETimes review for ‘Amaran’ reads, “It takes a while for Amaran to get things going. Mukund’s story is told through the eyes of his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese. We first see them meet when they are in college, and as their love blossoms, they get past the initial opposition raised by both their families to be together. But both the leads are not at all convincing in these portions. It's only when Mukund gets into the Officers Training Academy that the film picks up.”
