Ajith's 'Thunivu' distributor trolls Vijay's 'Varisu' reaching 200 crores with a meme

Ajith and Vijay clashed with each other at the box office after nine years with 'Thunivu' and 'Varisu', and both films were released on Jan 11 as a Pongal treat to fans. Even though both filmmakers had a discussion between them for a smooth release, the battle between fans is on. More than fan fights, there has also been a battle among theatre owners and distributors on the comparison between 'Thunivu' and 'Varisu'. The makers of 'Varisu' earlier today (Jan 18) announced the film grossing Rs 210 crores at the box office worldwide in 7 days and unveiled a stunning poster.


But in reply, the 'Thunivu' distributor posted a meme mocking Vijay's 'Varisu' reaching Rs 200 crores and indirectly hinted at it as a fake report. The back-to-back posts from the two different teams have stirred up a social media war, while Ajith fans started questioning the proof for the 'Varisu' box office collection. Meanwhile, Raahul, the Tamil Nadu distributor of 'Thunivu' has been mocking netizens who quote a higher box office number for 'Varisu' and asking them to visit his office to know about the collections of Ajith's film. But 'Thunivu' makers are yet to announce the film's box office collection officially like Vijay's 'Varisu' team.

'Varisu' has officially earned Rs 210 crores worldwide at the end of its first week, whereas Ajith's 'Thunivu' is said to have earned Rs 160 to 165 crores at the same time. Even though both films are good in their genres, Vijay's film holds a higher place at the box office battle.
