Ajith to play the lead in Mudhalvan 2; will the speculation become a reality?

Speculations have been rife that Ajith will be joining hands with ace director Shankar for the sequel of his successful movie Mudhalvan, released in 1999 starring acting king Arjun in the lead. Even before Shankar started his sequel to Indian with Kamal Haasan, too, the same discussion happened. But, now the rumour is getting stronger and it is reported that Shankar met Ajith recently and he loved the script of Mudhalvan 2. However, it is said that the actor has asked the director to wait till he finishes his current movie, Valimai, under H Vinodh’s direction. Of late, Ajith has been choosing scripts that has a lot of family values and he has been playing characters that matches his age or even ore than that. Thala Ajith fans are in fact looking forward to the news that their matinee idol will be joining Shankar. Though Shankar has directed almost all big heroes, he is yet to work with Thala Ajith. In fact, there is a story that initially Ajith was supposed to be doing the lead role in Shankar’s Jeans but Ajith had to opt out of the movie due to date issues and Prasanth was roped into play the hero, by sacrificing seven films for this one.
