Ajith Kumar’s passion for racing to get its own documentary, confirms director Vijay, calls it a ‘do-or-die world’
Tamil star Ajith Kumar has a knack for motorsports as an added passion other than his cinematic outings. Recently, director Vijay confirmed that he is making a documentary on the ‘Good, Bad, Ugly’ actor’s racing journey.
On the work front, Vijay is also directing Kadhal Reset Repeat, featuring Madumkesh and Jiya Shankar. Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar was last seen in ‘Good Ugly Bad.’
How the documentary came together
As per a report by CineExpress, Vijay revealed that Ajith Kumar and his manager, Suresh Chandra, approached him for this project. He shared that Ajith welcomed him on the first day, saying, “Welcome to my world.” The director shared that the world of motorsports is very different from what people imagine. From the outside, it may look simple, but it is extremely demanding and risky. “It might feel like it is simple. It is not like that at all. Everything is a do-or-die scenario," he said.Inside the demanding world of racing
The director also shared some interesting details about what he learned from Ajith. He shared about how drivers have to change seats during a race in just 20 seconds. It requires high physical fitness, sharp focus, and strong mental preparation. "This is the world of motorsports, and Ajith sir is doing it passionately. I am witnessing that firsthand and documenting it with my three-camera setup and shooting it in 4K resolution," he added.Respect for Ajith and motorsports
The filmmaker also mentioned that watching Ajith chase his passion has increased his respect for both the actor and motorsports. “For now, we want to document it well. It has been a great experience so far. All of us know Ajith as a superstar, but seeing him work hard for his passion is very surprising. After coming here, my respect for him as well as for the sports has increased tremendously. He would surely be looked at as a motorsports icon in India," he said.On the work front, Vijay is also directing Kadhal Reset Repeat, featuring Madumkesh and Jiya Shankar.
