Actor Ajith Kumar is officially set to compete in the upcoming round of the Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) in Malaysia this weekend. This has generated a significant buzz among motorsport fans. Ajith Kumar Racing, confirming a two-car entry, will feature a star-studded lineup with Car #1 driven by Ajith Kumar, F1 veteran Narain Karthikeyan, and Julien Gerbi. As practice and qualifying sessions are underway, the team's return highlights Ajith's love for the sport, while the racer's viral, humble interaction with young fans in Malaysia has also captured widespread attention online.
As shared by Celebrity manager Suresh Chandra via his Instagram handle, the team will compete with:
Car #1 — Narain Karthikeyan, Ajith Kumar, Julien Gerbi
Car #8 — Aditya Patel, Romain Vozniak
Reportedly, the races will take place in Malaysia this Saturday and Sunday (Dec 13,14) from 10:00 AM, with practice and qualifying sessions already underway.
Fresh off his participation in the GT4 European Series in Barcelona, Ajith Kumar returns to ALMS.
The team describes itself as “born from the heart of a true racer”, shows Ajith’s long-standing dedication to the sport. The official site of Ajith Racing's vision reads, "Ajith Kumar Racing is committed to offering fans and aspiring racers exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the world of motorsport, from race preparation to track-side experiences, while also fostering the growth and development of motorsports in India."
Though racing takes centre stage, Ajith’s brief interaction with young fans in Malaysia has also been circulating widely online.
In a now-viral clip, Ajith can be seen speaking to two excited children, casually asking, “You want to be like me?” When one fan says yes, Ajith gently replies, “Are you sure? You may regret it, it’s a tough life.”
He later knelt down to take photos with the kids and also greeted several other fans waiting nearby.
On the work front, Ajith Kumar made his massive comeback with the fan-tribute film 'Good Bad Ugly' which received much love from the audiences. Ajith Kumar's 'Vidaamuyarchi' unfortunately failed to impress the audiences.
