Ajith Kumar confirms his next film amidst retirement rumours: ‘I will be starting to film in November this year’
Ajith Kumar is currently enjoying the success of his recent hit 'Good Bad Ugly', which has grossed Rs 200 crores worldwide. Now, the actor has confirmed his next film amidst growing concern among fans regarding his prioritisation of car racing. He has revealed that filming will commence in November 2025, with the aim of releasing the movie by April or May 2026.
Ajith Kumar about his upcoming films
In a recent conversation with Indulge from The Indian Express, the actor spoke about how he plans to strike a balance between his two greatest passions—cinema and motorsport. “Our racing season in Europe starts in March and ends in October, except for that one-off race that takes place in Dubai in January,” he shared.
Elaborating on how he intends to manage both professions, Ajith added, “If I can squeeze in a film between the November to February period, I will then have a film release every year, while also focusing on my racing programme. I will be starting to shoot a new project in November this year, which will hopefully be released around April or May 2026.”
Ajith also expressed gratitude to the collaborators who make this ambitious balance possible. Crediting his long-standing success in cinema, he stated that he feels fortunate to work with filmmakers and producers who understand and support his goals—especially as he enters his 33rd year in the film industry.
Though no official announcement has been made regarding his next film, many fans are speculating that Adhik Ravichandran, Venkat Prabhu, or even Dhanush might direct it.
