With Ajith's 'Thunivu' and Vijay's 'Varisu' releasing today ahead of Pongal, the fans were in celebration mode with both the film having early morning shows across the city. While fans of both the stars celebrated and enjoyed at the theatres, one Ajith fan lost his life.

The Ajith fan died during the Thunivu movie celebration in Chennai. According to reports, the young Ajith fan died while dancing on a lorry on the road in front of Rohini theatre in Chennai.

Apparently, fans got on top of a moving lorry that was crossing the theatre and started dancing on it celebrating the film's release ahead of the first show of the film. Reports are that the young fan suffered serious injury on his spinal cord region as he fell down from the lorry and was admitted to a hospital. Unfortunately, the young Ajith fan passed away

Another incident was Ajith fans, who watched 'Thunivu' in a Rohini theatre in Chennai, had reportedly torn down a banner of Vijay's 'Varisu' placed in the theatres. This disturbed Vijay fans and they also tore most banners of Ajith's 'Thunivu' kept at the theatre. Apparently, police had to lathi-charge the Vijay and Ajith fans to calm the situation, while several fans got beaten up heavily.
