Aishwarya Rajesh is set to deliver her fourth film of 2023, 'Farhana', which is releasing this Friday. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Aishwarya Rajesh opened up about playing a Muslim girl in the film and the controversies surrounding it. Aishwarya Rajesh has shared her experience working for the film, which is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, and revealed some interesting facts associated with it.
Talking about the character, Aishwarya Rajesh shares, "Farhana is a female-centric film, and the lead character is a Muslim girl. I did my homework and prepared for my character within ten days, and two Muslim ladies helped in the journey. But working for 'Farhana' is not an easy job; it's an intense role. We have shot for the film mostly in live locations, and it was challenging to film between narrow places with over 100 technicians involved in the making."
Aishwarya adds, "It was a happy experience working for the film, and it was so easy to get ready for the shot since I didn't have to concentrate more on my dress and hairstyle, as I used to wear a burkha for most of my scenes." Aishwarya also went on to praise her co-stars and revealed some surprise elements from the film: "
Jithan Ramesh, Aishwarya Dutta, Kitty Sir, and
Anumol have played important roles, and their characters will connect with people's daily lives. Interestingly,
Selvaraghavan has done a surprise role, and the film has nice characters."
About 'Farhana' and the controversies encircling it, Aishwarya Rajesh states, "Farhana" will surely surprise you, and I don't want to give any spoilers ahead of the film's release. I want the audience to go with their respective opinions. But controversies and negativities are the ones we have to ignore, as we can't speak about the film without watching it. So we just avoid negativity since negative thoughts are everywhere, while only a few wish the best for us."
Moreover, Aishwarya will be watching the FDFS of 'Farhana' at the film's special premiere in Dubai, and she has also planned to visit theatres in Chennai later to catch the audience's response. The actress targets the family audience while signing a film. The actress admits, "I focus on impressing the family audience when locking a script because one family watching the film sold four to five tickets, which helps our business. So, family audiences are my main target."
