Director
Rathindran Prasad
, who directed the viral Kodaikanal Won’t song video, is now filming his second feature film, which is being presented by
Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Karthikeyan Santhanam. The untitled film has
Aishwarya Rajesh playing the lead role. “The film is a mystery thriller. Whether the mystery has something to do with the paranormal or not is what the plot will all be about,” starts off Rathindran, whose first film,
Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai
(IVSK), is also in the making.
“Aishwarya is also part of IVSK. During its shoot, we were discussing the possibility of working on another project together. Due to the delay in that film, we decided to begin this one,” says Rathindran, who reveals that Vijay Sethupathi played a major role in this film going on floors. “I’d written this script before IVSK, and he had listened to it. So, when there were delays in IVSK, he told me to make this one, and recommended me to Karthik Subbaraj’s production team,” he recalls.
Talking about Aishwarya’s character, he informs, “She plays a psychologist. She will not have a markedly different look, but it will be something that we don’t usually see her in. Her character comes from a very rooted, rational family, so she thinks differently than most people.”
A newcomer is paired opposite Aishwarya in this film, which will have six major characters. “We also have Pavel Navageethan of Kuttram Kadithal fame in a crucial role,” adds the director.
Most of the crew from IVSK is part of this one as well, including Roberto Zazzara, an Italian cinematographer. The one major change is Prithvi Chandrasekar, who will be composing the music for the film, which, as of now, doesn’t have any songs. “Prithvi used to work with AR Rahman. He is a very talented musician. We are shooting in Ooty, and given that he also has a studio there, it is convenient for me to be working with him. He is composing the music in parallel while we are shooting,” signs off Rathindran.
