Actress scares monkeys away
One would have heard of those working on horror films having supernatural experiences. But for a change, the director of the Tamil horror film Mooch recounted an experience that is far from terrifying. In fact, it is hilarious.
Vinu Bharathi, the director of the film, says, Mooch is about a mother who enters into a struggle with a spirit for the sake of her children.

For a particular sequence in the film, we needed a place that looked haunted. After an elaborate search, we zeroed in on a partially constructed structure in the village of Kandhikuppam in Krishnagiri district.
The structure was in the midst of a mango orchard, which was inhabited by about 30 monkeys which were proving to be a nuisance to the owners of the place. Despite various measures, the owners were unable to get rid of the monkeys, which had been staying there for several years. Recently, we had to shoot a particular scene in which the spirit appears. So, I asked the girl who plays the spirit in the film to apply makeup and sit out in the sun. The idea behind the move was to get the paint to dry in such a fashion that cracks would appear, giving a scary impression. She did as she was told and after a few minutes, we heard the monkeys shrieking and fleeing the scene. It took us a while to realize that the girl with her makeup had scared the wits out of the monkeys, which fled from the place. The owners of the orchard requested my permission to take the girl with this makeup to other orchards in the area to scare other monkeys there too.
