Actress Namitha and her husband rescued from Chennai floods

Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu was flooded due to cyclone Michaung, while most areas of the cities are still struggling to return to normalcy. Some low-lying areas are flooded with rainwater, and several teams have been involved in rescuing people from the stranded area. Now, actress Namitha and her husband Veerendra were rescued from the flooded area.

Namitha and her husband Veerendra were staying at their house in Thoraippakkam, Chennai, and it's also one of the areas that was affected badly due to cyclone Michaung. Namitha and her husband were stranded in their house for two days as their residential area was surrounded by water. The popular actress survived two days with her family as they received some food materials from the government and social activists. However, after two days of waiting, Namitha, her husband, her twin sons, and other family members were rescued by the government recovery team, and the actress moved to a safe place. While addressing the press and media after the recovery, Namitha expressed her gratitude to the NDRS rescue team and the Tamil Nadu government.


On the work front, Namitha is off from films for the last three years, and she was last seen on big screens in the Tamil film 'Miya'. Namitha keeps herself involved into politics as well, and she has been supporting a popular National party.
