Politician and actor JK Rithesh, who was last seen in RJ Balaji’s LKG, died of cardiac arrest while campaigning in his hometown Ramanathapuram this afternoon. According to reports he was rushed to the hospital after he complained of severe chest pain, but couldn’t be saved. He was 46 years old.
Rithesh played a negative role in LKG, which had RJ Balaji and Priya Anand in the lead roles.
Earlier, he had acted in films like Kaanal Neer, Nayagan and Pen Singam. He was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka in 1973 and later, in 1976, his family migrated to Rameshwaram. He debuted in films with
Chinni Jayanth directorial Kaanal Neer after completing Diploma in Civil Engineering. Later, he took a break from acting to join politics. He started off in politics with DMK, but in 2014, he left the party and joined
AIADMK.
