Aara and Vicky play the lead in a film on a girl’s quest to get education

, a film that explores the struggles of a young girl who only wants one thing in life — access to education.

, who’s helming the film, says, “In our society, not many understand the value of educating girls. Especially in villages and small towns, it’s a struggle to convince parents to enrol their daughters in school. Even if a girl manages to attend

schools

, there are so many obstacles along her path — if she as much as talks to a boy, people label their relationship as love and even take her off school. The film will deal with such an issue — how an entire family goes through a lot of struggle to get their girl educated.”

The film stars Aara and Kaaka Muttai Vicky in the lead. “All the characters are script-driven. I was looking at performers who can pull off the roles with conviction. I had auditioned over 50 girls and finally zeroed in on Aara. She actually acted out all the sequences in the script during her audition,” he informs. Ask him if the film is based on real-life incidents and he says, “I’ve included events that have had an impact on me. I’ve been writing stories since I was in Class 8. I used to enact stories at home with friends, and have even participated in a lot of stage shows. Through my journey, I’ve come across many incidents that have influenced me, and this story is one such compilation.”
