After an action-thriller like Thuppakki Munai, Vikram Prabhu’s next will revolve around a true incident. The project will be directed by debutant
Tamilarasan, who is a former associate of
Vetri Maaran. The director says, “The film is based on a true incident that happened in Tamil Nadu. Many people can relate to this and I am certain that they are aware of this incident, too, as it sort of shook the state.
I have known
Vikram Prabhu for a while now. And incidentally, when I wrote the script, I felt that he could carry off this role. It is a police script and Vikram will play a cop in this film. We are still finalising the rest of the cast and crew."
The team will begin shooting from the second week of March, and it will be filmed in different parts of Tamil Nadu. The film will be bankrolled by the production house, which churned out films like Maya, Maanagaram and SJ Suryah’s upcoming Mercury.
Having worked with Vetri Maaran for two of his projects, Tamilarasan is excited about his debut as a director. “I worked with Vetri sir is Visaaranai and Vada Chennai. I hail from Rameshwaram and have always been passionate about making films. I am glad that I am finally making my debut as a director,” he says.
