A Thaarai Thappattai welcome for Ilaiyaraaja

Ilaiyaraaja, who took a short break from his recording schedule, visited the team of Thaarai Thappattai in Thanjavur yesterday. A folk song composed by him for the film is being shot there and the maestro went to the set to see the shoot, which is being shot in Padithurai, the lake area, in Thanjavur.
So elated was director Bala at this turn of events, that he gave the Isaignani a special welcome.Since this is Ilaiyaraaja���s 1000th film, Bala arranged for a musical welcome reception by getting traditional performers and groups from Thanjavur to play some tunes.
A source from the unit says, ���We have created the set of a colony in an area in Thanjavur that is culturally very rich. We have also been shooting a song with all the actors of the film here, and Ilaiyaraaja came to see the shoot of the song, which is being shot in a ship. Director Bala gave him a grand musical reception, and everyone was very happy about this. The team was surprised, but was very excited when they saw Ilaiyaraaja on the set.���
