The shoot of
Ashok Selvan and
Priya Bhavani Shankar
’s campus entertainer was wrapped up on Monday. The film, titled Hostel, is being directed by
Sumanth Radhakrishnan.
The director tells us, “The story takes place inside a boy’s hostel. A block in an engineering college’s hostel collapses and they shift the students temporarily to another hostel, which is under the control of
Nasser and Munishkanth. The hilarious events that unfold in the place, form the plot. Ashok Selvan plays a final-year student in the film.”
“The producer, R Ravindran, agreed to put up a set of this hostel in T Nagar, as almost 70 per cent of the movie had to be shot on this set,” adds Sumanth. Durairaj, who has been part of
Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam
and
Rajini Murugan
, is the art director.
Sathish, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru Yogi, Krrish Menon (who has been part of the Malayalam film Kinavalli), and Ravi Maria are also part of the film’s supporting cast. Bobo Shashi (of Kulir 100° fame) is composing the music of this film. “He has done a fantastic job. I am pretty confident that the songs will have a great reach as they will rekindle the college memories of a listener,” says Sumanth
