Celebrating National Pets Day and Times of India’s 16th anniversary in Chennai, we tweaked the concept a little more and organised a paw-dorable blind pet date for our readers. As we found our forever home in Chennai, Chennai Times orchestrated this event, where our readers met kittens and puppies, assigned to them at random, and bonded with them over a cute little date.

Talk about Zilleniels! We’ve all gone on a blind date, or at least heard of one. Celebrating National Pets Day and Times of India’s 16th anniversary in Chennai, we tweaked the concept a little more and organised a paw-dorable blind pet date for our readers. As we found our forever home in Chennai, Chennai Times orchestrated this event, where our readers met kittens and puppies, assigned to them at random, and bonded with them over a cute little date.
While there were 45 entries, four puppies found their fur-ever homes.
Our celeb guest Pavithralakshmi of Cooku with Comali fame, had a lovely time with the fur babies. “I felt very glad to be part of this event, because it involved animals. There are so many people who voice out for humans, but very few to voice out for animals. Personally, I advocate adoption big time. My philosophy is, ‘Adopt, don’t shop’. I have two dogs — Coffee and Coco. One of them is adopted while the other was gifted to me by my friend,” she said.

As soon as I entered the venue, I was set for a blind date with a lovely pup. I fell in love with his cuteness and felt that it would be right to adopt him. I have named him Kaala. I am so lucky to have found him

I am a member of Heaven For Animals and I brought two rescued puppies here for adoption. I fostered one of the puppies for a couple of months before bringing him here for adoption. But when people started taking him on a date and asked if they could adopt him, I figured that I’ve grown too attached to him and can’t give him up. So, I’m taking him back home. I’m going to name him Dude
