The upcoming film ‘My Lord’ featuring Sasikumar,
Chaitra, and Guru Somasundaram in the lead roles, is set to hit the screens on February 13. The team had come together for a grand press conference in Chennai, which proved to be an emotional experience as well. Personalities from the film industry such as Bala, Mari Selvaraj, TJ Gnanavel, Premkumar, Vijaymilton, and Ravikumar attended as special guests along with the film's team. But what was the eye-catching moment was the speech of Sasikumar.
What ‘My Lord’ truly means
While addressing the media, Sasikumar stated that 'My Lord' is not a typical courtroom film. He expressed that the title does not pertain to law or authority, but rather represents an ordinary man at the base level of society. According to him, the term 'My Lord' represents a standard person’s dignity and inner strength. He also mentioned that, in fact, he had encouraged director Raju Murugan not to allow the troubled Bala to attend. However, Raju insisted, so Sasikumar offered his prayers and bestowed his blessings upon the team before the completion of the event. It moved him to tears and deeply touched him.
Trust in the director and respect for co-stars
Sasikumar spoke warmly about his team. He had credited Guru Somasundaram for the role of reporter Kathirvelan and said that he was glad to work with him. He replied to that by saying that he had asked Raju Murugan not to cater anything to him, to think out of the box for this film unlike the previous one, which is the reason he was optimistic about this film and its making. He also mentioned the producer's heartfelt comments that Raju Murugan should be successful and never fail again. Sasikumar added that he would always stand by filmmakers like him.
Sasikumar's honest words
In a candid moment, Sasikumar revealed that many had warned him against working with Raju Murugan, calling him “difficult.” But he later understood that it was passion for quality cinema. He also mentioned an incident when the project came to a standstill because the actor had to opt out. It was Sasikumar’s recommendation to choose Guru Somasundaram, who had a very peculiar blind trust and connection in his writing and his speech, which was more of a value-based talk about loyalty and sacrifice and the zeal for the kind of cinema he believed in, made it a superb experience.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
