The jury of the 63rd National Film Awards today announced the list of winners from the Hindi and regional movies, with popular names taking home the most prestigious award. Several Tamil movies bagged honours at the 63rd National Film Awards announced on Monday. The Best Tamil Film was announced as Visaaranai, while Ilaiyaraaja won the award for his background score for Tharrai Thappatai and the late T.E Kishore won the Best Editor for Visaaranai.
While director turned actor Samuthrakani won the Best Supporting Actor for his role as cop in 'Visaaranai', debut actress Ritika Singh received a special mention for her role as a boxer in 'Iruthi Suttru'. Director SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali - The Beginning' won the National Award for Best Film and also the Best Visual Effects.
