​20 years of Jayam Ravi's 'M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi'; still a beloved film​

The Tamil film 'M Kumaran of S/O Mahalakshmi' starring Jayam Ravi, Asin, Nathiya and Prakash Raj was released in 2004. Directed by Mohan Raja, the film is a remake of the Telugu film 'Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi'. The movie is turning 20 now after it was released in October 2004 and here are a few reasons why it continues to be remembered fondly even after so many years!

The film was a major turning point for Jayam Ravi in his acting career. 'M Kumaran S/O of Mahalakshmi' , established him as a leading actor in Tamil cinema. His portrayal of a devoted son and an aspiring kickboxer was highly appreciated.

Asin's role as a Tamil-speaking girl from Malaysia was well received, and her chemistry with Jayam Ravi added a romantic charm to the movie. The film also marked actress Nadhiya's comeback. Her portrayal as a mother was strong yet vulnerable and it won her accolades.Adding to that is Prakash Raj, Aishwarya and Vivek which were all perfect to the storyline.
