Jai donated blood in real for a scene

Jai put up an impressive performance as Kathiresan, a metal shop worker, a shy and soft-spoken guy. In a scene where he has to donate blood, the actor is said to have donated in real. The chemistry between Jai and Anjali was a huge hit. While Vimal and Amala Paul were considered as the other lead pair, they were eventually replaced by Sharvanand and Ananya, who were quite impressive, too.
