Jana Nayagan Release Date Hearing Highlights: Madras HC dismisses the case; Vijay’s film moves to RC

Jana Nayagan has been stuck for many weeks, and the delay keeps growing. The makers first gave the film to the CBFC in December 2025. They made 27 edits as the board asked and sent the new version again on December 24. They thought everything was fine. But a complaint from CBFC Chairman Prasoon Joshi changed everything. The complaint said the movie showed “foreign powers fueling significant religious conflict in India” and warned it could harm peace. It also said Army scenes were many, and no defence expert was part of the panel. It added that an Advisory Panel Member had objections that were not used.Because of this, the makers went to the Madras High Court. Justice PT Asha earlier directed the CBFC to give a U/A 16+ certificate. But that order was later questioned by a division bench. The bench said procedures were not followed right, so the film went to the revising committee on January 27.Now the makers want to withdraw their old petition. They want to follow the revising committee process instead. The hearing today is at 10.30 AM. Fans keep hoping for a release date, but there is no fixed date yet.
