Sivakarthikeyan impressed director Pandiraj after he hosted audio launch of Vaagai Sooda Vaa

Director Pandiraj approached Sivakarthikeyan to play the lead role in his film Marina, after he saw him hosting the audio launch of the film Vaagai Sooda Vaa. Sivakarthikeyan visited the beach and studied the surroundings extensively to get in tune with the character.
