Not Nassar but Goundamani was the first choice to play the dual role. The director had also finalised him for the role. However due to prior commitments, Goundamani was unable to be part of 'Jeans', and then Nassar came in as a replacement. However, Nassar has performed well in his dual role as twin brother as both characters are different from the other. 'Jeans' also marked Nassar's first film with director Shankar, then he played a short role as a psychiatrist doctor in Vikram's 'Anniyan', which was also directed by Shankar.

'Jeans' features Prashanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles, and the film was made on a high budget. The family entertainer gained huge reviews from critics and audiences and developed big at the box office.
