Cinema has witnessed great developments in all fields, and fans have been enjoying the development. Even though filmmakers travel around places to shoot in live locations, few prefer to shoot inside a film city or a well made set to avoid fans gathering and other disturbances during the production. But did you know, 50 lakhs worth of lively sets was made for Vijay's 'Thirumalai' in 2003?

Vijay who has created a niche for himself among other star celebs, was also a part of the action drama 'Thirumalai', which is also one of the most successful films in his career. He had joined hands with director Ramana for 'Thirumalai', for which the director presented Vijay in a cool new avatar for the fans. Considering the issues shooting in a live location, the team made a 50 lakh worth of a lively set of Pudupet area and shot the film. This was a costly set for a Tamil film at that time.

Vijay played as a bike mechanic in 'Thirumalai'. The film also stars Jyotika, Vivek, Raghuvaran, Kausalya, Karunas, and others. The music of the film was scored by Vidyasagar, while the cinematography was handled by R. Rathnavelu.
