'Varisu' box office collection day 2: Vijay's family entertainer sees a peak on a working day, inches towards Rs. 80 crores worldwide

2023 has kickstarted with the biggest box office battle Vijay and Ajith's 'Varisu' and 'Thunivu', and two films of different genres clashed on the same day. Both films opened with a great response from fans on a working day on Jan 11. Vijay's family entertainer sees a peak at a working day. After earning over Rs 35 to 40 crores worldwide on day 1, Vijay's film raises a step higher on its second day, which is a working week day. 'Varisu' has reportedly grossed over Rs 40 crores with special morning shows continued on day 2 and the total collection of the film stands at around Rs 80 crores worldwide.

'Varisu' has reportedly earned over Rs 17 crore at the end of day 2 in Tamil Nadu, while the domestic collection film surpasses the Rs 50 crore mark. With immense response from fans and a series of holidays ahead till Jan 18, 'Varisu' is set to add more numbers at the box office and we can expect over 90% occupancy. It's a tough fight from Ajith's 'Thunivu' well, and both films grow parallelly at the box office.










'Varisu' features Vijay in the lead role alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Srikanth, Prabhu, and Yogi Babu among others. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the emotional family drama has rightly reached the target audience, and the film has been pulling in fans of all generations right from day 1. Thaman's music worked reasonably, while Karthik Palani's cinematography makes the film look rich.
