'Vaathi' box office collection day 3: Dhanush starrer mints Rs. 30 crores during its first weekend

Dhanush starrer 'Vaathi' hit the big screens last Friday (Feb 17) and the bilingual drama was released in Telugu as well. The social drama that sends a message about school education opened with positive reviews and the film got additional shows for the weekend. The 'Vaathi' box office collection after day 3 is estimated to be over Rs 50 crores worldwide. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual marked the Telugu debut of Dhanush, and the dynamic actor impressed Telugu fans as well. In Tamil Nadu, 'Vaathi' has reportedly earned over Rs 30 crores at the end of day 3 and the day 3 collection was higher than the previous two days' collections.

The Telugu version titled 'Sir' has reportedly Rs 16 crores from the Telugu states, while the overseas collection of the film is said to be around Rs 5 crores. The weekday collections of 'Vaathi' aka 'Sir' is also expected to be solid ones as the reservations for the film for the evening and night shows are getting filled fast.

Directed by Venky Atluri, 'Vaathi' aka 'Sir' features Dhanush and Samyuktha in lead roles as school teachers. The dynamic actor stands strongly against offenses in the educational system and voiced out strongly through his dialogues. Samuthirakani played the antagonist, and he battled strongly with Dhanush. GV Prakash Kumar scored the music, and his fiery background score lit up the fire on big screens.
