After failing to impress fans with 'Prince', Sivakarthikeyan has made a strong comeback with 'Maaveeran' and the film released on July 21 is performing well at the box office. With continuous positive reviews, 'Maaveeran entered into the second week successfully by holding most of the screens from the first week. Even though it's a working Friday, 'Maaveeran' has peaked well at the box office and the film has reportedly earned almost Rs 8 crores on the second Friday (July 21). The overall collection of 'Maaveeran' stands at around Rs 69 crores, and the film is expected to do more on Saturday and Sunday. 'Maaveeran' released along with the Telugu version 'Mahaveerudu' is also doing well in Telugu states, and this has turned out to be a film at the box office.
Director Madonne Ashwin, who helmed the National Award-winning 'Mandela' is helming 'Maaveeran'. Director Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar has played the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan, while Mysskin, Saritha, and Yogi Babu play pivotal roles. Sivakarthikeyan's performance as a comic artist and Yogi Babu's comedy scenes have been receiving major applause from the audience. Bharath Shankar scored the music, and his background score added power to the film.
Meanwhile, the makers of 'Maaveeran' have declared the film as a profitable venture, and the film's success at the box office has set the path right for Sivakarthikeyan's next release 'Ayalaan', which is slated to release this Diwali.
