'Iraivan' box office collection day 2: Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara starrer mints Rs 1.75 crore

Directed by I Ahmed, the psychotic thriller starring Nayanthara and Jayam Ravi in the lead roles was released in theatres on September 28 and the movie in two days has managed to make a gross of Rs. 4.25 crore in two days. The film on day 2 had minted Rs 1.75 crore. The film stars Rahul Bose as the antagonist and the music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Jayam Ravi plays the role of a carefree fearless cop who takes the law in to his own hands when the criminals are gone unpunished. He meets a challenge when Rahul Bose playing a serial killer murders young girls. Jayam Ravi is left stranded and confused when he is not able to catch the killer and is being targeted often which makes it more difficult for him to run the case in his pace and style.

Certified 'A' by the censor board, the film is not suitable for family audience and actor Jayam Ravi during the film promotions said that the gruesome visuals need a strong heart. The film will soon make its digital premiere in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. 'Iraivan' is expected to have a slow pick at the box office as it was released at the same time as 'Chandramukhi 2' and Siddharth's 'Chithha'.

On the work front, Jayam Ravi has a few projects in the pipeline that include 'Siren', 'Brother' and 'Genie' which will all be releasing in 2024.
