Jayam Ravi, who was last seen in the magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan 1', is back with his next release, and the actor's 'Agilan' is now available for streaming in theatres across locations. Directed by Kalyan Krishnan, 'Agilan' had its release on March 17 and the film occupied a good number of screens. Now, the update about the 'Agilan' box office collection on day 1 is that the Jayam Ravi starrer gets an average opening. 'Agilan' was released on over 500 screens in Tamil Nadu, and the film opened with special morning shows. The action thriller opened with positive reviews turned on to receive average reviews later on the day.
'Agilan' has reportedly earned close to Rs 3 crores worldwide on day 1, and the numbers are slightly lesser than expected. But the weekend booking for 'Agilan' looks strong and the film is expected to have greater numbers than the opening day during the weekend.
It's a one-man show from Jayam Ravi in 'Agilan' as the talented actor impressed fans with his grey-shaded character. Even though the film had a crisp run time of 2 hours and 15 minutes, a few lags in the film have turned out to be a speed bump for the action thriller.
'Agilan' features Jayam Ravi as an illegal dealer, who controls the harbor, with Priya Bhavani Shankar and Tanya Ravichandran as female leads. Sam CS scored the music, and his background score added power to the film.
