Ikk Movie Synopsis: A footballer who suffers a head injury on the field witnesses a murder while convalescing in his hospital room. However, there is hardly any sign of a crime having happened. What's happening?

Ikk Movie Review: Ikk begins with Vasanth (Yogesh) suffering a head injury during a match. He believes that his accidental killing of a dove a few days ago during practice and the little girl who accompanied him on to the field before the start of play are somehow connected to his present predicament. His wife Dhanya (Anikha) feels he is overthinking things, and even the doctors believe this might be the result of the injury to the head.

Meanwhile, Vasanth witnesses a murder while convalescing in his hospital room, but there is no trace of the crime having been committed. He begins sharing his fears with his driver Gnanaprakasam (Guru Somasundaram, playing yet another role as a slimeball), who only encourages his suspicions. Is Vasanth going insane or is there something else going on here?

Like with his Jiivi, writer Babu Tamizh (who also debuts as a director here) comes up with another mind-bending movie with Ikk. Sadly, while the premise looks terrific on paper, as a film, this is a rather underwhelming movie, with flat visuals and impassive performances from its leads. In fact, the film might work better as a audio play as it is mainly the music, by Gavaskar Avinash, that is instrumental in building up its eerie mood. Where Babu Tamizh succeeds is in keeping us guessing right from the start till the end on the mystery around his protagonist. And he also manages to come up with a convincing denouement that manages to explain the mystery and also build up on it.
