Rafta Rafta gets a star-studded revamp in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se

In a casting coup of sorts, the new song from Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, Rafta Rafta Medley, features some of the biggest Bollywood stars shaking a leg in its snazzy video. The song is a recreated version of the evergreen track Rafta Rafta from the 1973 film Kahani Kismat Ki that starred Rekha and Dharmendra, and has both of them making a grand comeback.It also stars Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha and the Deols - Sunny and Bobby.
A medley of other popular retro numbers has also been incorporated in this song. These include Salaam-e-Ishq (Muqaddar Ka Sikandar), O Mere Sona Re (Teesri Manzil) and Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana (Pratiggya), which are interspersed with popular dialogues voiced by the inimitable Shatrughan Sinha, Dharmendra and Rekha.
The makers of the film and the music label Saregama are excited about the song, which is already becoming popular. Says Vikram Mehra, MD Saregama, "Rafta Rafta is an iconic song and it gets a whole new life in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se. With a line-up of some of the biggest stars in the video and the audio of the song having a rocking dance vibe, we are sure this one is going to be heard on the party circuit for a long time."
For the legendary Dharmendra, shooting this song was like a happy reunion. He shares, "It was like celebrating a festival, as I was with some of my oldest friends and loved ones. I am grateful for the unconditional love and affection that they have for me and for coming on board for this song. It’s a mutual bond I share with each of them from the heart, and the chemistry we share with one another is real. Love reflects love, and this is what you will see in the song."
The track has been recreated by music director Vishal Mishra and is currently streaming on all major music streaming apps and digital platforms.
