Sonal Mansingh recently performed in the Pink City, and the focus of her performance was atrocities against women. It was a mixture of dance, drama and lecture based on old mythological stories of eight devis. The danseuse dedicated her performance ‘Devi Shringar Lehri’ to today’s women. She began with the rendition Koi Hai Rashida, Koi Nirbhaya, Koi Damini Aur Koi Olympic runner.
“We all know stories of one and all and what’s happening with them all across the country” she said.
Organised by Raghu Singh Mala Mathur Charity Trust, the evening was a part of eighth Raghu Singh Smriti Samaroh. Unlike most of the musical performances that only have fun and entertainment as their objectives; this one had an added element of humour and lyricism. Her one-and-half hour long performance was shot through with nritya, natya and abhinay and elements of Bharatanatyam.
