Yami Gautam was in town for a couple of days to promote her much-delayed film, Ullasa Utsaha. “I’m very excited because it’s my big screen debut,” says the actress, who wasn’t unduly worried about the delay in the release of this film.
“I’m just happy that the film has hit the theatres now,” she says.Ullasa... is a remake of the Telugu flick Ullasanga Utsahanga and Yami is playing Sneha Ullal’s part in the original. She says though that comparisons are not called for. “I have seen Sneha’s work, she’s very pretty. But we are two different talents and I’ve tried to play the part in my own way,” she says.
Yami, who’s waiting to see the response to this film, says she enjoyed working with Ganesh. “Though, Ganesh is a star, he’s very grounded, with no attitude. That’s one quality I liked in him,” says Yami. And while she waits for her next film, Yami is happy to be back on television. “I quite enjoy my small screen presence,” she says.
