Vijay's name game is over

Actor Vijay seeks to clear the confusion over the title of his next film, being directed by Siddiq
Vijay's name game is over
Breaking the stoic silence that he has been maintaining in recent times, actor Vijay said that his next film’s title was Kavalan and not Kavalkaran or Kaval Kadhal as had been reported by a section of the media.
Addressing a press conference along with his Kavalan team members comprising actress Asin, comedian Vadivelu and director Siddiq, the star said, “We wanted to sort out the confusion that’s been prevailing over the title of my next film.

Initially, we wanted to name it as Kavalkaran but due to certain reasons, we couldn’t name it so.” The movie, which also stars Asin and Vadivelu, is being directed by Siddique, who had earlier directed the superhit Tamil film, Friends.
“I’m very happy to be working with Siddiq sir again. We are paying attention to the comedy scenes in this film as we want the comedy in it to be as good as the comedy in Friends,” he said and added that the movie would be hitting the screens in December.
To a question on his decision to work in multiple projects, Vijay replied, “Actually, we began work on Kavalan and then, Asin went to Mumbai for two months. So, when she was away, I thought I would work on another project and that was why we began Velayudham. After she returned, work on Kavalan has resumed as well.”
The movie, which is a remake of the hit Bodyguard, will be a love story, with quite a bit of action too in it. It will have five songs. Vijay plays the role of a bodyguard to Rajkiran, who plays the role of a village elder in the film.
Asin, while speaking on the occasion, said that this was her third film with Vijay after Pokkiri and Sivakasi. “Both the projects were big hits and I’m looking to make it a hat-trick with this film. This is a wonderful love story,” she said.

When asked if she had seen the original in which Nayanthara had played her role, Asin said, “Yes, I have seen the original and I think Nayan has done the character well. She has portrayed it well in her style. I’ve done my best as per my director’s suggestions.”
