He's always got something new up his sleeve. After getting a six-pack, sporting a bald pate and currently flashing a rippling bod Ghajini style, namma Vijay is now training his three-year-old son Samrat Vijay to sport a super-fit body. The actor has been recently spotted at his gym with his young one. So, does that mean junior will be making an appearance in one of Vijay’s films? “That’s the idea.
My son has been showing a lot of interest in movies lately. He loved Duniya and Junglee. At such a young age, he’s already talking about fights and six-packs,” smiles Viji.
The actor’s planning to get his son to act in one of his films this year. “Probably, in a song or one of the scenes. I want him to get used to the camera,” says Vijay. He also feels that there’s no such thing as the right age to train kids. “It’s better he starts off right away. This is when their bodies are most flexible, so he can attempt better stunts than me. I didn’t have this kind of support when I was young. Now that he has me and I can afford to give him the best training, I’ll ensure my son sports an envious physique when ge grows up,” shares the actor.
Admitting to harbouring dreams of seeing his son make a splash on the big screen, Vijay tells us he wants a dhamaka debut for him. “I’m sure he’ll get offers when he’s 18. And I don’t want him to be unprepared and be a one-film wonder. So, if he’s ready at this age, I’m sure he’ll be a bigger star than me,” says Vijay.
On the professional front, the actor, who’s had a series of hits in the past, scored a dud with the recent Devru. “But I’ve never let any producer suffer losses. As for Devru not doing well, if we all had the formula to make a hit film, the industry would’ve been booming right now,” he explains.
Not many know that the actor has also been approached to star in the Kannada remake of the Tamil hit Paruthi Veeran. “I’d love to do it. But I don’t know how the audience will react to the heroine being raped by five men. It’s a great script, though. If audiences send me feelers that I should do it, then I will,” confesses Vijay.
